Phelan’s Pharmacy began in the 1920s with Sylvie Phelan, who opened the doors with a simple belief that a pharmacy should care for people, not just dispense medicine. His personal, community-first approach laid the foundation for nearly a century of trusted service.
For nearly 100 years, Phelan’s Pharmacy has been a trusted part of local life — evolving with the times, while staying true to its roots.
It began in the 1920s with Sylvie Phelan, whose personal, caring approach made the pharmacy a cornerstone of the community. His son, Dick Phelan, carried on this legacy with warmth and dedication, turning Phelan’s into a familiar, dependable space for generations. Later, Richard Phelan introduced new innovations while preserving the pharmacy’s personal touch. In 2016, Brian Tynan took over — bringing fresh energy, expanded services, and a continued commitment to community-first care.
In 2023, Phelans Pharmacy proudly expanded with the addition of Burkes Pharmacy in the HyperCentre — building on over 30 years of trusted care and excellence established by Michael Burke.
Today, we honour this proud tradition by offering modern, compassionate healthcare grounded in nearly a century of trust.
